General Information:
The Midwest PIG meeting is an informal meeting of research scientists from institutions within the Midwest. Clinical scientists and health care professionals are also strongly encouraged to attend. Slide presentations will be limited to a 10-minute time limit followed by 5 minutes for questions and will be enforced.

Bonus Feature:
A short course entitled Pain Mechanisms: From Molecules to Treatment will be offered in Minneapolis May 16-20, 2005. Co-directed and taught by a team of more than 20 faculty from the University of Minnesota and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, topics include the neurobiology of pain, the pathophysiology of chronic pain, human and animal models, translational research, common human pain syndromes and treatment options and outcomes. A wide range of participants will attend the course from academia, clinical practice and industry. Attendance at the PIG meeting is complimentary to course participants; the Friday evening Poster Session, Reception and Dinner Banquet will be attended by both course participants and PIG. This overlap will greatly increase the opportunity for scientific exchange and networking associated with each event. Getting to and Parking on Campus:
All events will be on the on University of Minnesota, Minneapolis Campus, East Bank.

The Welcome Reception and Poster Session (Friday May 20; 4:30-6:30) will take place Coffman Memorial Union in the Presidents Room followed by Dinner in the West Wing of The Campus Club (also in Coffman Union).
Slide presentations will be in the Molecular and Cellular Biology Building (MCB, 3-120), located on Washington Ave (420 Washington Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55455) between Harvard and Church Streets. Campus maps and directions are available at: http://www1.umn.edu/pts/maps.htm

We recommend parking in the Washington Avenue Ramp, (511 Washington Avenue S.E. Minneapolis, MN 55455) which is attached to the Radisson Metrodome hotel and within two blocks of MCB and Coffman. Parking is hourly with a maximum of $12/day. We suggest the East River Road Ramp as a backup (see http://www1.umn.edu/pts/maps.htm)
