Wilcox Lab Links Whiteboard

This is our central repository for interesting links, grouped by subject.
It's sort of a shared bookmarks menu. Or maybe more like a group brain dump.

Neuroscience

Society for Neuroscience
Journal of Neuroscience Online
We will be caching this journal locally for [our, dues-paying!] research group members only.
Science Magazine

Computational Neuroscience

Computation Neural Systems at Caltech
Home of the GENESIS Neural Simulator. Our very own alumna, Rogene, is currently affiliated with this program.
Antwerp Theoretical Neurobiology
The other location at which Rogene holds an appointment.

Computer Manufacturers

Apple Computer, Inc
Apple makes way-cool products.... Can't beat the Mac's desktop metaphor which has endured for more than a decade of changes.
Apple Newton
This way-coolest Apple product deserves an entry of its own. We are very excited about the potential for ubiquitous Newton deployment to save us from our flurry of paper -- a Newton for each lab bench, coat pocket, coffee shop table, ....
Silicon Graphics
More way-cool machines here -- including your faithful Web server, thank you: it's an Indigo2 Impact and we just love it. :)

Databases

Object Management Group
The OMG is a collaborative effort by many US computer industry members to define an open standard for distributed computing. We are excited about the OMG's CORBA spec and would like to see it used in neuroscientific database projects.
Component Integration Laboratories

Other Computer Information

The Spring OS from Sun Microsystems
A good example of a new operating system which is built specifically for distributed object-oriented computing. Very cool; go peek.
